To affect change in today's world often requires innovative strategies and skills. For this reason, we have assembled a staff of leaders who successfully meet these challenges. By using creative and resourceful ways to foster systemic change, ULI has been able to reach across all kinds of boundaries—geographic, religious, ethnic, and philosophical—to cultivate and bring together broad and diverse constituencies to respond to a common problem or objective.
In addition to the ‘basics’, we offer students a range of gross motor and creative opportunities including yoga, tai chi, and music classes, on-going drama workshops, and organized team sports. We strive to include enrichment activities that extend our students knowledge and understanding of the world outside the classroom. Each year, our students take a field trip outside the US.
We are also committed to parent education. As a requirement, we offer a number of seminars throughout the year to help you better understand and support your children’s development.

Graduate: Morgan State University (2004) Bachelor of Arts in English; Concentration: Language Arts and Graduate Degree in Family Counseling from University of Baltimore.
Jamilah Sams, Language Arts/Reading Instructor
Known as a charismatic and articulate educational leader, Ms. Sams has championed the cause of excellence in education for over 10 years.Ms. Sams is an assistant principal at the Cross Roads School in Baltimore, Maryland.
Clara Kolar, Spanish Instructor
Clara is a native speaker from Colombia South America. She attended Catholic University of Colombia and majored in economics. She has traveled in several countries through Europe, Asia, South America, and North America.

Karim Shabazz, Tai Chi Instructor
Karim is a graduate of Morgan State University, where he majored in Education. He has taught special education for over 10 years.
